Marquette
and Alger Counties Resource Guide June 2011
-Never
doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.-
Greetings!
As the new director for the
Marquette-Alger Great Start Collaborative
(M-A GSC),
I believe the above quote from
Margaret Mead captures the spirit of the M-A GSC membership! Each day, I
am impressed with the engagement of members and the level of activity
that is happening across our
two-county area
to
achieve our
vision: A Great
Start for every child in Marquette and Alger counties; safe, healthy and
eager to succeed
in school and in life.
I am eager to
serve with so many dedicated parents, professionals and community
members on such an important initiative. The MA-GSC has accomplished so
much since being established in 2008, and I am confident we will
continue to make a meaningful difference as we address issues in the
five Great Start components of priority:
Pediatric and
Family Health Child Care and Early Education
Family Support
Social and Emotional Health
Parenting
Leadership
I invite you to
share your ideas, passion and commitment in 2013 for early childhood
issues by continuing to support or joining the MA-GSC membership whom
are hard at work facilitating positive, sustainable changes in our
communities. Together, it is possible to achieve a community where ALL
of our children meet their full potential and have a promising future.
Please feel free
to contact me with any questions.
Best Regards,
Evi
